ASSIAD was founded in 1983 by five of the main producers with the scope of improving the knowledge of admixtures and promoting their use within the concrete industry.

ASSIAD represents around 90% of the Concrete Admixtures market in Italy and is the recognised partner for the major National Industry Associations.

In particular the activity of the Association is focused on the technical improvement of the products, control and defence of product quality, definition and standardization of usage and applications.

The Association activity consists of:

• expanding the knowledge of concrete technology and use of admixtures
• promoting the use of admixtures at seminars and meetings
• developing and improving the technical background knowledge by the publication of manuals, providing instruction courses and by co-operating with Universities and Professional Schools
• Supporting UNI (National Body for Standardization) in the European Standardization of concrete admixtures.
