The French National Association of producers of concrete and mortar admixtures (SYNAD) was established in 1968.

A Technical Committee was formed to develop better liaison with users of admixtures, prepare national drafts of admixture Standards and set up a national certification scheme. This was followed by active involvement in the development of European Standards and corresponding certification. More recently, SYNAD has formed new committees responsible for marketing, environmental matters and security matters.

Today SYNAD aims to provide representation for its members and those active in the admixture industry, promotion of the use of admixtures and concrete construction and provide public authorities, institutions and all other stakeholders with accurate information on the use, benefits and impacts of admixtures.

In this way SYNAD is able to define common goals, to communicate with all stakeholders and to contribute to the public interest.
