Founded in 1983 is formed by 7 members: Addiment Italia, Axim Italia, Chryso Italia, BASF CC Italia, Ruredil, Sika Italia, and W.R. Grace Italiana.

Assiad represents about 80% of the Concrete Admixtures market in Italy and is the recognised partner for the major National Industry Associations.

The scope of Assiad’s activities includes improving the knowledge of admixtures and promoting their use within the concrete industry.
In particular the activity of the Association is focused on the technical improvement of the products, control and defence of product quality, definition and normalisation of usage and applications.

The Association activity consists of:

• expanding the knowledge of concrete technology and use of admixtures
• promoting the use of admixtures at seminars and meetings
• developing and improving the technical background knowledge by the publication of manuals, providing instruction courses and by co-operating with Universities and Professional Schools
• Supporting UNI (National Body for Standardization) in the European Standardization of concrete admixtures.
