The French National Association of producers of concrete and mortar admixtures (SYNAD) was set up in 1968. A Technical Committee was formed to develop good liaison with users of the materials. The Technical Committee has since carried out the following : Preparation of the national drafts of Standards for various admixtures and their test methods ; Discussion, before homologation of these drafts with administration and users ; Setting up of a national certification scheme ; Active participation in the European standardisation of admixtures and correspnding certification. More recently, the organisation has formed new committees responsible for marketing and environmental matters..
